A brother of the Chairman of the Kolonnawa Urban Council has been abducted.
According to the Police Media Spokesperson SP Ajith Rohana a group that arrived in a van had carried out the abduction in the Meethotamulla area this afternoon.
A complaint has been lodged in this regard with the Wellampitiya police by the mother of the victim who has been identified as Janaka Prabath Dodampegama.
Police noted that around six individuals had arrived in the van to carry out the abduction.
An extensive investigation is being carried out into the abduction.
