No country can interfere over political solution

07 June 2011
A political solution is entirely an internal affair, and no foreign country had the right to interfere, said president Mahinda Rajapaksa.
A solution that fulfills the aspirations of the Northern people will be given, he told the opening of the Kokavil transmission tower yesterday (June 06).

What the LTTE and certain political leaders want would never be given despite any amount of pressure, he said.

Leaders of the North and the South should sit down together and resolve this matter, said the president.

He went onto say that everyone has the responsibility to safeguard the democratic freedom achieved, adding that the people everywhere now had the right to criticize.
