Registration of families Continue in Valikamam.

The military has started registering the family members once again in some areas in Valikamam in Jaffna, especially in Sankanai and Mathagal area Valikamam west where registration activities are now very brisk.

Army personnel in uniform visit the houses and engage in registration and then photograph the family members on mobile phones, the area people say.

Registration of families was very vigorous in the past, but after the TNA went to the courts regarding the issue and the government said that it will abandon the registration process.

But the military has started the registration process once again, with photographing on mobile phones as an additional practice this time. Similar registration has been started in Valikamam north as well, which in fact was earlier demarcated as High Security Zone.

These families were permitted to resettle only after getting registered with the army, but registrations being started once again has aroused suspicion among the people.
